Description

What Is the NHA19375-01 Filter Board?

The Schneider NHA19375-01 is the input EMC/EMI filter board used in Altivar ATV610, ATV630, and ATV930 drives in the 7.5–11 kW power range. Its function is to suppress high-frequency conducted emissions on the input side, allowing the drive to meet IEC/EN 61800-3 C3 EMC requirements without an external line filter. The board contains the Y-capacitors that shunt common-mode noise to protective earth, along with the associated filtering components mounted on the drive’s power input path.

Unlike control boards or power-stage assemblies, this board does not generate a drive fault code of its own. Its condition is typically investigated when upstream protective devices trip unexpectedly, when EMC compliance is compromised, or when the drive has been operated in an IT or corner-grounded system where the built-in filter must be disconnected.

Supplied as a tested replacement unit, it is intended for cases where the original filter board is physically damaged, has failed insulation testing, or needs to be restored after a configuration change.

Associated Symptom RCD tripping on power-up; excessive leakage current to PE
Condition Tested replacement unit

Important Diagnostic Distinction: An RCD trip on an ATV610/630/930 with this filter board installed does not automatically mean the board is faulty. The built-in EMC filter intentionally presents a leakage path to earth through its Y-capacitors. On a 15 kW ATV630, this leakage plus the power-up transient can exceed the 30 mA threshold of a standard RCD even when the drive is not running and insulation resistance tests normal. The filter board should be replaced when it is physically damaged or has failed an insulation check — not solely because an upstream RCD trips.

When to Investigate or Replace the NHA19375-01 Board

The filter board becomes relevant under these conditions:

  • RCD trips immediately on power-up — the drive display lights up, no start command is given, but the upstream residual current device trips. This is the classic signature of EMC filter leakage current, and the first step is to verify RCD type and rating (Type B, ≥300 mA is commonly recommended for drives) rather than replacing the board.
  • Insulation resistance test fails at the input side — a megger reading substantially below the expected value across the input terminals to PE, after disconnecting the drive from the supply.
  • Visible damage to filter components — burn marks, cracked Y-capacitors, or discoloration on the board.
  • IT or corner-grounded system configuration — the built-in filter must be disconnected per the installation manual; the board is involved when this modification is performed or reversed.

Compatibility & Verification

Before ordering, confirm the following:

  • Drive model and frame size — the 7.5–11 kW range spans specific frame sizes. The filter board is frame-dependent; confirm the exact ATV610/630/930 catalogue number rather than relying on kW alone.
  • Original board marking — confirm the existing board reads NHA19375-01.
  • RCD and grounding configuration — if the symptom is RCD tripping, verify the RCD type and rating and the system grounding arrangement before concluding the filter board is defective.
  • If uncertain, send a photo of the drive nameplate and the original filter board label for review before purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does NHA19375-01 cause RCD tripping?

The filter board itself is not “faulty” when it causes RCD tripping. The built-in EMC filter includes Y-capacitors that intentionally leak a small current to PE. On drives in the 7.5–11 kW range, this leakage plus power-up transients can exceed a 30 mA RCD threshold. Verify RCD type and rating first.

Can I disconnect the built-in EMC filter instead of replacing the board?

Yes, on ATV610/630/930 drives the built-in filter can be disconnected per the installation manual to reduce leakage current. However, once disconnected, the drive no longer meets IEC/EN 61800-3 EMC requirements.

Is NHA19375-01 compatible with ATV930 as well as ATV610/630?

It is listed for ATV610, ATV630, and ATV930 in the 7.5–11 kW range. Confirm the exact drive model and frame size before ordering, as filter board fitment is frame-dependent.
